A HANDFUL OF TROPHIES FOR FACH AUTO TECH

While racing in Europe rested under a thick snow cover, FACH AUTO TECH registered a first success of the year during their trip to the Orient. The Porsche team from Sattel in Central Switzerland climbed up to the podium at 24h Dubai.

The Swiss amateur racing pilots Thomas Fleischer, Peter Joos, Marcel Wagner and Heinz Bruder had Martin Ragginger the professional Porsche reinforcement from Austria on board. The quintet participated at the 24 hours powered by a Porsche 991 Cup MR (4000cc), which was prepared and assigned by FACH AUTO TECH.

Not only the climatic conditions promised a hot competition, but also the number of starters was a thrilling case. More than 90 racing cars from several classes got a move on the five kilometres of Dubai Autodrome.

A brand-new underfloor caused a few tuning work, which the crew around team chief Alex Fach had quickly under control. Martin Ragginger qualified the bolide with the starting number # 51 for the fourth place of the group SPX. After the qualifying Alex Fach meant: “Of course we know that Raggi is the strongest driver in our squad, so our placements will stagger. We just hope that we will be able to beat the 24 hours, see the chequered flag, and than maybe a good result is possible.”

According to the prophesy of the team chief, the Swiss Porsche was found in different positions. In the meantime, start driver Martin Ragginger even led the SPX group. Except for a defective exhaust that burnt the underfloor, the team did not report any technical problems.

On the other hand, the enormous frequency of racing cars caused surprises. Contacts were inevitable. “Sometimes the steering wheel stood to the right, sometimes to the left site, and it was straight again at the next pit stop,” Alex Fach commented. After 542 laps the FACH Porsche finally crossed the finish line as third of the SPX class and the driver quintet was issued with the deserved trophies.

“After that hard work here in Dubai, we are really happy about the podium,” said Alex Fach, referring also to the excellent cooperation with Team Manthey Racing. On the Manthey Porsche the former FACH pilots Otto Klohs and Matteo Cairoli completed a sucessful race together with Sven Müller and Jochen Krumbach. “In terms of logistics and pit stops, we have concurred with Manthey Racing, which has worked very well. And we are also very happy with Otto and Matteo, who have finished second overall.”

While the first FACH-Porsche was favored by fortune the team on the Cayman GT4 Clubsport was out of luck. Already after the first training the trip to the emirates was finished. # 240 was damaged after a collision with another Cayman and a repair was not possible for the race.
