Podium reward for a strong performance

After the Dubai prelude, FACH AUTO TECH tackled the year’s second 24-hour race – the 24H Paul Ricard. Despite bitter setbacks and a repair phase lasting several hours, the team from Sattel climbed back into the race again and took home the second place.

The 24-hour race in France didn’t go according to plan for FACH AUTO TECH. The Swiss quartet in the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport started from 23rd on the grid. Marco Zolin, Michael Hirschman, Marcel Wagner and Heinz Bruder moved up several positions in the opening phase and took the lead in the SP3-GT4 class.

However, technical problems forced the Porsche team several times into the pits and they lost valuable minutes. More extensive damage then meant a repair stop, but after an intensive ten hour repair period, the Porsche crew was able to remedy the damage and send the car back into the race.

“I’d like to thank the whole team for their tremendous commitment this weekend”, said team manager Alex Fach. “That race was a tough one and we were really put to the test, but nevertheless we held out to the end and clinched a second, thanks to a fantastic team performance.”

After this impressive endurance race in Southern France, FACH AUTO TECH goes directly to Spain, where the vice champion will be competing from 12th – 14th May in  the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season opener in Barcelona – for the first time with three cars.
