SEASON OPENER WITH TWO POLE POSITIONS AND A PODIUM

The FACH AUTO TECH squad made a successful debut in the new Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season. Thanks to Australian Matt Campbell’s strong performance, the Sattel team secured pole positions for both races and the first podium success of the year.

After an impressive Top Ten performance by Matt Campbell and Josh Webster, Sunday’s race produced the first podium finish. Despite of a good start, Matt Campbell couldn’t catch the lead. After several fierce duels, the Australian finally clinched the overall third and kept it till the finish.

“Things aren’t running quite so satisfactorily yet, so I’m happy with third place,” said Matt Campbell after the race. “It’s my first Supercup season and you can feel the incredible power density in this series. I wonder how it will continue.”

Glauco Solieri was also in impressive form. From 30th position, he fought his way unerringly through the field and after a great performance finished in 22nd place and 3rd in the amateur championship. Josh Webster, was unfortunately less lucky and after an early collision, fell back and could only finish 22nd.

“It couldn’t have been a better start to the season”, said a happy team manager Alex Fach. “Matt’s incredible qualifying time on his first weekend in Europe and then a podium third to crown that – I am very proud of this achievement and I’d like to thank the entire team for doing a great job.”

Highly motivated by this fantastic season opener, FACH AUTO TECH travels on to the Principality of Monaco, where from 25th – 28th May, the team from Sattel will be competing the second race weekend.
