Flag-to-flag victory in Austria

From pole position to a flag-to-flag victory: FACH AUTO TECH reports back to the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup title fight with an impressive performance. Australian Matt Campbell clinched first place in a nail-biting race and has now reduced the gap to top of the rankings. Team mate Josh Webster also had reason to be happy and the Brit’s strong sixth place meant collecting important championship points.

Thanks to their intensive preparation for the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup’s fourth race of the season, the FACH AUTO TECH drivers Matt Campbell and Josh Webster succeeded in qualifying for the race grid’s two front rows. The duo had already used the free practice to build on their Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland guest start experience and steadily improve.

Pole setter Matt Campbell confidently defended his position right from the word go and gained a significant lead over his pursuers. Starting from fourth on the grid, Josh Webster also made a good start into the race’s tough competition in Spielberg, Austria. Numerous wheel-to-wheel battles over the entire racing distance allowed the Brit to yet again prove his talent.

After 16 laps, triumphant victor Matt Campbell crossed the finish line in first place and celebrated his first Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup win on the Red Bull Ring. “What a successful weekend”, said a jubilant team manager Alex Fach from the pit wall.

“We made good use of the long racing break to prepare ourselves as well as possible for the race weekend. Matt’s pole position and his victory have given us a perfect weekend”, Fach summed up and then added: “Josh and Glauco have also delivered a great performance and can be really satisfied with their weekend. And now it’s time to concentrate on Silverstone, where we are aiming at celebrating yet another weekend with lots of points.”

Despite a good start, Glauco Solieri’s race was clouded by grip problems and the Swiss driver finished with an overall 29th place and a fifth in the B classification.

The next Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup round is scheduled for July 16th in Silverstone. The ‘Home of British Motor Racing’ will at the same time be Josh Webster’s home race in front of local supporters and he’ll be playing all his cards for a podium finish.
