Double action in belgium

The FACH AUTO TECH squad eagerly await the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup race weekend in Spa-Francorchamps (25th – 27th August). The team will participate in two races of the season on this challenging Belgian circuit and therefore have a double chance to collect points.

Glauco Solieri, Josh Webster and Matt Campbell are in the Belgian Ardennes at the start of one of the most tradition-steeped circuits in Europe. The Spa-Francorchamps circuit is a very special track with high-speed corners and immense differences in altitude, poses a big challenge for all drivers, but the squad nevertheless pushed themselves to their limits in the last and secured pole position twice (Earl Bamber 2014, Matteo Cairoli 2016).

“The Spa weekend is my personal highlight of the year”, said team manager Alex Fach, looking forward to the coming races. “It’s a very complex circuit and the right preparation is crucial for a win. Over the last few years, we’ve proved that this is precisely where our strength lies and 2014 we stood on top of the podium with Earl Bamber.”

Earlier on in the year, the FACH squad had travelled to the track for several tests. In addition to becoming familiar with the cars in April, focus was on preparation for the race at the end of August. This involved the team trying out various scenarios and collecting valuable data to serve as a basis for the approaching weekend.

“I think we have never been better prepared for the Supercup weekend in Spa”, said Fach. “Glauco, Josh and Matt know the route by heart and for all three the podium is closer than ever before. The cars are ready to go and we’re ready for the next success.”

Two races are scheduled on the highlight circuit during the second to last Europe weekend. The first race starts on Saturday 26th August at 18:35 and can be watched live on Eurosport 2 and Sky Sport. Eurosport 1 and Sky Sport are both covering the Sunday race beginning at 11:25.
