The Porsche Sports Cup Suisse has a long tradition at FACH AUTO TECH. Since 2006, the crew has been at the start of the Clubsport series and represents one of the most successful teams of all time. On the second last October weekend 2017, the Swiss mastered the night premiere in Misano, Italy with flying colours.
The Sattel team has been an established part of the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse for many years and the FACH AUTO TECH drivers have been competing in countless races and claiming a large number of victories and podium finishes. 2017 has also been a successful year for the team, which yet again has clinched numerous podium positions. The season ended in Misano, Italy, where the final was staged from 19th – 21st October.
Highlight in the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse was a two-hour night race, held for the first time. Drivers Marcel Wagner and Peter Hegglin proved well-prepared for the last race weekend and straight away, secured a second and sixth place in the overall classification consisting of 34 starters.
“We’ve learnt a lot this year, worked very hard and achieved several successes as a result”, sums up team manager Alex Fach. “The night race was particularly exciting, as it was a new experience for our drivers, who were entering new territory. Thanks go to the whole team for the tremendous performance this season. Next year we’ll be at the start of the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse for the eleventh time and will be proving ourselves anew.”
The Porsche Sports Cup Suisse is not only vitally important for FACH AUTO TECH, but also for teams and drivers from the whole of Europe. It is one of the most important race series, which Swiss motorsport has to offer. The season’s races take place in neighbouring countries on top-class circuits such as the Red Bull Ring in Austria or the Circuit Paul Ricard in France.
“The Porsche Sports Cup Suisse is the perfect stage for all sorts of drivers. Together with our Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup instructors, we fill knowledge gaps and provide valuable expertise before each race. Our portfolio is complemented by the adjustment, maintenance and safe transport of the cars”, says Alex Fach.
