For FACH AUTO TECH, the new season starts early. From 11th to 13th January, the Swiss team will be starting in the desert at the 24H Dubai. With two Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars, the team competes in the 911-Pro and 911-Am classes.
The 24H Dubai Line-up for FACH AUTO TECH’s two cars will be a special highlight. While the car #61 will be driven by a quintet of Swiss drivers, the sister car will be used in the Pro class by Porsche as part of the official Junior Program.
“The Dubai race is a unique experience for us”, says team manager Alex Fach. “We’re on diverse tracks throughout the entire season, but this is the only possibility we get to start in the desert. We were able to carry out about 30,000 race analyses in preparation and are perfectly prepared. I think that our drivers can build on the past successes in Dubai.”
Marcel Wagner, Heinz Bruder, Peter Hegglin, Michael Hirschmann and Philipp Frommenwiler share the Porsche in the 911 Am category. “Porsche Young Professional” Matt Campbell and the two “Porsche Juniors” Julien Andlauer and Thomas Preining take the wheel together with Jens Richter in car #62.
The Porsche team from Sattel was already unbeatable in 2013 in the United Arab Emirates and secured a class victory. A further podium finish in this seventh participation has top priority, as Alex Fach says: “We definitely have the podium in sight, but a lot can happen in 24 hours. It is important that we manage the distance without accidents, then we have a good chance in the fight for the class leaders.”
11th January 2018 see the start of free practice and qualification at Dubai Autodrome. The race itself starts on Friday 12th January at 11:00 CET. And can be followed live on the official homepage.
