Optimistic to Barcelona kick-off

FACH AUTO TECH moves on from the first Porsche Sports Cup Suisse race weekend to the start of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup on 11 to 13 May. After the satisfactory two-day test beforehand in Spain, the Sattel-based team is now well prepared for the new season.

2018 sees two Supercup-experienced drivers Jaap van Lagen and Christof Langer starting for the tradition-steeped team from Canton of Schwyz. Dutchman van Lagen can also draw on WTCC and ADAC GT Masters experience. In addition, FACH AUTO TECH has engaged the 2017 Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland vice-champion Nick Yelloly, a further Porsche expert.

FACH AUTO TECH clocked up four season wins in 2017 and the team scored a second place in the team ratings. Driver Matt Campbell secured third place in the driver and a second in the rookie ratings. Objective in 2018 is to capitalize on the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup’s past successes.

Start of the international one-make cup takes place as usual on the Spanish Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where the trio will be racing with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup sporting a new design. Unlike 2017, this initial weekend consists of just one race, which begins on Sunday 13 May at 12:45.

Eurosport 2 offers live TV race coverage beginning at 12:30. Commentator is Oliver Sittler, who has previously accompanied the team presentation in the Porsche Zentrum Winterthur.
