Home game for Nick Yelloly

It’s a very tight race schedule for FACH AUTO TECH this July: three more Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup events are on the agenda. After the Austrian Red Bull Ring race on 1 July, the next race in Silverstone UK follows a week later on 8 July.

The weekend on the circuit near Towcester is of great importance to Nick Yelloly – it’s a home game. Needless to say, the 27-year-old, who was born only a hundred kilometres away, has set his sights on repeating his Monaco victory.

“I can hardly wait to be at the start in Silverstone. I think this race on the calendar is the one I’m most looking forward to. I’m not far from home and can even sleep in my own bed. That’s what I call pure luxury on a weekend like this”, the Porsche driver explained. “Our season began really well and we’ve already collected a lot of championship points. Now it’s time to reduce the gap to the top of the standings or even take the lead. We’ve forged excellent working relationships together as a team and it goes without saying, we’re aiming for a podium finish”, said a resolute Yelloly.

Back into the Top 3

“After the setback in Spielberg, I’m ready to go for it in Silverstone”, says Jaap van Lagen with a view to the tasks ahead. “I’m very much looking forward to the weekend and will definitely be trying to upgrade my position in the championship and push myself into the Top 3 again.”

The Dutchman is the most experienced driver at the Northamptonshire venue in Silverstone, where the 41-year-old made his first Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup appearance in 2007. Van Lagen is particularly fond of tackling races in the home of British motor racing: “There are always a lot of guest entrants from the national Carrera Cup in Silverstone. This closes ranks in the field and makes the races all the more exciting.”

Christof Langer is also very familiar with the track in Towcester: “I’ve often been in Silverstone in the past and I like that the next race is starting immediately after Spielberg. I hope I can make it with a better position than in Austria and a podium finish would be great.”

The fourth round of the season will be broadcast from 12:30 pm on Eurosport 2 and in the Eurosport Player. On Tuesday, 10 July Eurosport 1 will broadcast a replay of the race at 10:35 pm.
