Just one point separates Nick Yelloly from the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup frontrunner. From 31 August to 2 September FACH AUTO TECH competes in the penultimate championship weekend in Monza, Italy.
Nick Yelloly ranked fifth in Spa-Francorchamps and has his sights firmly set on the podium for the last race in Europe. After the eighth of ten rounds, the Brit intends to travel to the Mexico finale with the championship lead in his pocket.
The fast Dutchman Jaap van Lagen is also focusing on a podium finish, having fallen short of his hopes for a Top 3 position with a seventh place in the Belgian Ardennes. Christoph Langer is also in on the fight for top ranks in the Pro Am class.
“Last year we won Monza, so now the whole squad is accordingly motivated to finish the European season as successfully as possible”, said team manager Alex Fach.” Of course, focus is on the fight for the title, but we also intend to achieve a satisfactory result as a team.”
The high speed Autodromo Nazionale Monza race track is a circuit with a long tradition. Characterized in the past by its steep bankings and curves, today the Parabolica corner is probably one of the most challenging and demands precise and flawless driving skills. Another very special feature are the “Tifosi”, the Italian motorsport fans that turn the track into a sea of red flags throughout the weekend, giving the event its unique character.
The race starts on Sunday, 2 September at 12:10. The race can be followed online via live timing and webradio and also on Eurosport 2.
