The Red Bull Ring in Austria plays host to the third round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup from 28 to 30 June. For FACH AUTO TECH and drivers Florian Latorre, Jaxon Evans and Kantadhee Kusiri, the race in Spielberg offers the next opportunity to achieve that coveted podium finish.
“We had a solid result in Monaco with two top 10s and second place in the Rookie classification,” Team Principal Alex Fach said in the run-up to the weekend. “Our driver trio is still quite young. They have made some good progress so far, but we want more. We’ve always performed well at the Red Bull Ring, and the podium is and remains our target.”
FACH AUTO TECH drivers have never failed to finish outside of the top 5 in Austria in the past four years. In 2015, Christopher Zöchling won the race in the FACH Porsche, while in 2017 the team celebrated pole position and a victory for Matt Campbell. Florian Latorre has already shown that he feels right at home in the mountains of Styria: in 2018, the Frenchman finished third at the Red Bull Ring to secure his maiden podium.
Jaxon Evans and Kantadhee Kusiri will be making their Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup debuts at the Red Bull Ring. Evans has raced here before, when he competed in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland in early June.
The race weekend begins with Free Practice on Friday evening. Qualifying takes place on Saturday at 13:25, while the race begins on Sunday, 30 June at 12:15. Eurosport 1 will be broadcasting the race live from 12:00.
