More top 10 results for FACH AUTO TECH: The Sattel-based team collected valuable championship points with a fifth and ninth at the Red Bull Ring. However, Florian Latorre’s, Jaxon Evans’ and Kantadhee Kusiri’s hoped-for jump onto the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup rostrum failed to materialize, despite some fierce duels.
“We watched an exciting race, our lads fought very hard and moved up the grid, but it wasn’t quite enough for a podium finish”, said team manager Alex Fach. “It was obvious today that our drivers have what it takes to fight at the top, but we have to continue working with absolute concentration and attack again in the next round.”
Jaxon Evans was first and foremost when it came to fighting spirit. Starting from 13th, the New Zealander overtook two opponents right at the start, steadily raced his way forwards over the fast roller-coaster and crossed the finish line in ninth place. The 22-year-old is ninth in the standings, thanks to seven additional points from his finish.
Team colleague Florian Latorre also bared his teeth at the Red Bull Ring and offered spectators some gripping duels with Mikkel O. Pedersen and Dylan Pereira for fifth to seventh places. In the end the Frenchman celebrated a fifth-place finish.
Kantadhee Kusiri’s debut on the challenging circuit made it more than clear to him that Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup races at the Red Bull Ring are always a tight fit. But the Thai kept his cool in the jostle and emerged fault-free in 16th place. Although the 26-year-old had won his first rookie podium in Monaco, this race in Austria only produced a class fifth.
Just two weeks after the Red Bull Ring event, the next Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup race is scheduled in Silverstone, UK, on 14 July. It will be the fourth race of the season for the Swiss squad. Beforehand, the team will be driving in the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse programme in Imola, Italy.
