Heading for Hockenheim with a tailwind

After FACH AUTO TECH’s first podium of the season in Silverstone, the Sattel-based team heads full of enthusiasm to the fifth Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup race from 26 to 28 July. Florian Latorre, Jaxon Evans and Kantadhee Kusiri have one big priority on the Hockenheimring – continuing the upward trend and battling for a place on the rostrum yet again.

“We finally made it in Silverstone and secured the season’s first podium finish. Anyone who knows us also knows we don’t think that’s enough”, team manager Alex Fach explains. “We want to fight for the win, and we want more top results in the coming races. The boys have got the talent, now we just have to take advantage of that both in qualifying and during the race.”

A look back at the previous season proves FACH AUTO TECH indeed knows how to win at the Hockenheimring. In 2018, Nick Yelloly not only secured pole in a chaotic qualifying, but then went on to pocket the race victory. Florian Latorre and Jaxon Evans are intent on a similar top result in 2019. After four races in the 2019 season, Frenchman Latorre is within three points of striking distance to the table’s Top 3 and Jaxon Evans has worked his way forwards to eighth position.

The young New Zealander has already tasted podium air at the Hockenheimring this season. Early May saw the driver standing on the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland debut’s rostrum and now it’s time to convert this experience into a strong Supercup result too.

Kusiri wants to finish inside the top 10 at the Hockenheimring. Started from tenth place at Silverstone, an accident in the race destroyed all hopes of a good points score. The reward for his hard work should follow at Hockenheim.

Green light for the race is on Sunday 28 July at 11:25. SPORT1 is airing the race live on TV and offering a livestream online. Eurosport 1 will also be televising the event.
