A familiar face strengthens Alex Fach’s team in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. Fabio Scherer, currently racing in the FIA WEC, makes his debut in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup as part of the FACH AUTO TECH entry at the Red Bull Ring. The one-make series entry complements the commitment in the World Endurance Championship.
“I am delighted to get the chance to race for FACH AUTO TECH in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup,” says Scherer. “I have known Alex Fach for a number of years now and we had always talked about the potential for a drive. It’s great timing for me, as the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is the perfect accompaniment to my World Endurance Championship programme with United Autosports. It will give me an excellent opportunity to gather more experience and, as a Swiss driver, it’s particularly special to race for a Swiss team. Chances like this don’t come around too often!”
The next race weekend for the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup will be held at the Red Bull Ring from 25 to 27 June. Eurosport and Sky will broadcast the second round of the season live.
