FACH AUTO TECH returns to 24 Hours of Dubai

For the first clash of the year, the 24H Series traditionally meets in the United Arab Emirates for the Dubai 24-hour race. From 13 to 15 January, the 5.39-kilometer racetrack hosts the first endurance race of the 2022 season. FACH AUTO TECH will compete with two Porsche 911 GT3 Cups to again fight for victories and podium finishes.

The racing team from Sattel is looking forward to the start after a three-year absence, as team principal Alex Fach reveals: “The 24-hour race in Dubai was always the start of the season for us. We have skipped the last few years due to the difficult situation with the pandemic, so we are very happy to be there again.” At the last appearance in 2018, the team managed to win their class, building upon the class wins and podiums from previous years.

In 2022, FACH AUTO TECH enters a Porsche in the 992 AM class. Peter Hegglin, Marcel Wagner, Jan Klingelnberg, Dominik Fischli and Alexander Fach form the all-Swiss driver quintet. This is the first time that the two Porsche Juniors from Switzerland, Fach and Fischli, share a vehicle – and will celebrate their first outing together in a 24-hour race. The mix of experience paired with young talent should cause a stir in the class and allow them to fight for the podium.

With Georgios Frangulis, Eduardo Menossi, Leonardo Sanchez Secundino, Rouman Ziemkiewicz and Atila Roberto de Abreu, five Brazilians will pilot the second 911 GT3 Cup in the 992 PRO category. Abreu is the most experienced mainstay here. He has been racing in Stock Car Brasil since 2006 and in 2004 became the only driver to beat the future Formula 1 driver Sebastian Vettel in a junior Formula championship. Thanks to the strong line-up, Fach is confident about the long-distance race: “We have already celebrated several successes in Dubai – of course we want to build on these with our two cars this year.”

Track action already starts on Thursday, 13 January, when both free practice and qualifying take place. The green flag for the 24-hour race is waved on Friday at 15:00 local time (12:00 CET). The entire event will be broadcast via live stream. Fans can enjoy the action from up close: an onboard live stream from both cars will be available. All information about the event and links to the streams and live timing can be found on the FACH AUTO TECH website.
