Two youngsters, one stalwart: Line-up for the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland is set

FACH AUTO TECH returns to the grid of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland in 2022 with three cars. The racing team from Sattel in Switzerland is represented by two talented youngsters, Lorcan Hanafin and Alexander Fach, as well as the experienced Christof Langer. With this mix of talent and experience the team plans to attack the frontrunners.

“We are very happy to announce our driver’s trio for the Carrera Cup season. I’m sure we have a strong line-up that can get fight for the podium,” says team principal Alex Fach with confidence.

With Lorcan Hanafin, the team has secured itself of a promising talent from the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain. In the British one-make series, he took second place overall in 2021. With this performance, the 19-year-old also caught the attention of Porsche: Hanafin was one of the select few who had the opportunity to prove himself in search for new Porsche Juniors. “Even though Lorcan only just didn’t make it in the shootout, he showed that he’s on the same level as the best. Together we can certainly achieve strong results,” Fach is certain.

Alexander Fach, too, is going for top results. As a two-time Porsche Sports Cup Suisse champion, the young driver from the Swiss canton of Schwyz also has a wealth of Porsche experience. In 2020, the 19-year-old got his first taste of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland in Oschersleben and at the Lausitzring. “This is a great opportunity. It was clear to me that I wanted to drive for FACH AUTO TECH, if at all possible,” said the Porsche Switzerland Junior. “I know the team very well from the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse and from Dubai. The line-up in the Carrera Cup is strong. It won’t be easy for me, but I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

The trio is completed by Christof Langer. The Porsche driver has been racing in the German one-make series for many years and will be back in the ProAm class in 2022. “I just feel good at FACH AUTO TECH,” explains Langer. “We know each other very well by now and simply understand each other. Last season I was able to improve step by step in the races. That’s how we will continue.”

The 2022 calendar includes a total of eight race weekends with 16 races. The team’s first showdown of the season takes place from 5 to 7 May at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps as part of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
