Successful race day in Spielberg

What was only moderate success on Saturday, turned out much better the following day: the FACH AUTO TECH drivers scored a lot of points in the 14th round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland season.

In the first race, which took place on Saturday, Morris Schuring lost his chance of a top finish early on – after just two corners, to be precise. In the turmoil of the first lap, the Dutchman, who was crowned the youngest winner of all time just two weeks ago, was turned around. After dropping back to the end of the field through no fault of his own, he did damage control and fought his way back to 13th place.

Fighting was also the keyword for the second race on Sunday: Schuring stayed out of trouble this time, which is how he found himself in the middle of numerous battles for the top 5. The 18-year-old shone with a flawless performance and overtakes at all the right moments. The end result was a strong fourth place and many points for the overall championship.

Jasin Ferati also scored good points. The young driver, who finished fourth on Saturday, came third in the rookie classification the next day. The 20-year-old got off to a clean start and gained ground early on. Halfway through the race he passed Ghislain Cordeel, who was third in the class. Ferati held his position until the end of the race.

Alexander Fach took home two top 10s from the race weekend in Austria. The 21-year-old scored eighth and tenth place. After the setbacks from the Sachsenring where, to remind you, Fach was spun out by an opponent shortly before the end, he bounced back to earn a solid number of points.

Only one round remains in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland. The series will visit the Hockenheimring from 20 to 22 October.
