Mixing things up: FACH AUTO TECH with two top-8 finishes

FACH AUTO TECH put in a strong performance at the first ADAC GT Masters weekend of the season with two top-10 results at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Alexander Fach and Alexander Schwarzer, both making their debuts in the championship, scored two eighth-place finishes for the team from Schwyz.

“I think we can be happy with that first race weekend of the ADAC GT Masters,” said team principal Alex Fach. “The weekend was the first chance to measure ourselves up against the competition and get some experience with our new Porsche 911 GT3 R – and now we know where we stand. It was good to come away with two top-8 finishes.”

Fach and Schwarzer behind the wheel of the #4 Porsche 911 GT3 R are the only silver-bronze driver duo in the entire field. Not only did the pair of Porsche drivers put in a promising performance on their maiden appearance in the championship, they also picked up their first points of the season.

The pair already showed they were in business in Saturday’s race, as they made up a number of positions from fifth position to finish eighth. In race two on Sunday afternoon, the two FACH AUTO TECH drivers stepped up their performance by qualifying in sixth on the grid. After a brave showing in the race, the duo came home in eighth place once again, with Schwarzer even leading the race for a time after the pit stops.

The weekend in Oschersleben marked FACH AUTO TECH’s return to the GT3 championship after eleven years away. The team has enjoyed widespread success in Porsche single-make championships, with countless race victories, podiums and championship titles – including in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. The team is racing the latest version of the Porsche 911 GT3 R for the first time in the ADAC GT Masters.

The next stop on the calendar is Zandvoort from 7 to 9 June for races three and four of the season.
