FACH AUTO TECH TRIUMPH IN MONZA

The performance in Monza’s royal park saw the FACH AUTO TECH team, together with Matt Campbell, securing the second win of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season. After bad luck during the practice session and qualifying, Josh Webster finished in eleventh place. Glauco Solieri took fifth in the B-classification.

Qualification on Saturday was broken off due to heavy rain and so the line-up for the season’s ninth race was formed according to the free practice results. Porsche-Junior Matt Campbell thus started the race from pole position and was able to pull away from his chasers right from the word go. He put his laps together without making a single mistake and with a magnificent lead crossed the finish line as proud and radiant winner of the race.

After an impressive chase from 26th position, team mate Josh Webster finished eleventh and only just missed collecting points. “The problem with the paddle shifter during practice and the non-existent qualifying made me realize it would be a tough race”, said the Brit. “But I never thought I’d manage to fight my way at one stage to a ninth position from end of the field. I’m absolutely delighted and would like to congratulate especially Matt and the team on the season’s second victory.”

Glauco Solieri had a hard time with tyre wear during the race. Despite all efforts, an improvement was hardly possible and the Italian crossed the finish line fifth in the B-classification. So unfortunately, there was no belated birthday present.

“The entire team has breathed a sigh of relief. We were able to demonstrate, yet again, how good the squad and the car are”, said a very thrilled team manager Alex Fach in the pit lane. “Matt’s victory in the European final was wonderful. A fantastic feeling and it gives us the necessary motivation for Mexico. I was overwhelmed by Josh’s performance too. It cannot be emphasized enough, that closing up on the Top 10 from the end of the field is amazing.”

On the last October weekend, FACH AUTO TECH will be at the start of the highly competitive brand cup season’s finale. The Swiss team will be doing everything in their power to finish the season with a top result in Mexico.
