New lineup for the 2018 season

FACH AUTO TECH is realigning itself for the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season. Jaap van Lagen, Nick Yelloly and Christof Langer will be driving the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in 2018. After their successful 2017 season, the Swiss team will be fighting again for the championship.

This will be the FACH AUTO TECH contigent’s sixth year in the international Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. The team from Sattel has been one of the championship’s most successful teams since 2013. In addition to numerous victories and podium finishes, the Porsche team won the rookie and driver classification in 2014 and in 2016 and 2017 took second place in the team classification. The new driver trio now aims to continue the success story in 2018.

The team has engaged an extremely experienced driver – the Dutchman Jaap van Lagen. The 41-year-old has taken part in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup, the WTCC and the ADAC GT Masters, to name just a few series. “I’m really looking forward to driving with FACH AUTO TECH, I love GT sport and have close ties with Porsche. I’ve also known the team for a long time. In 2015, we were able to celebrate victory together at our Supercup guest drive in Monaco”, van Lagen explains. “We’re all on the road in the same car during the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, which means driver performance is crucial. And that’s what I particularly appreciate about this series”, the Porsche driver adds.

New entrant is the Brit Nick Yelloly, who also looks back on Porsche experience and joins the Sattel team from the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland. The British man is also development and simulator driver for Force India 1. He already won races in the World Series Renault 3.5 and in the GP3 series. In 2017 the 27-year-old also drove his first Carrera Cup wins and made second place in the 2017 overall classification. “Driving for FACH AUTO TECH this year is a fantastic opportunity for me and I’d like to thank all those concerned. The Swiss are one of the most successful Supercup teams and definitely the best choice for my personal development”, says a happy Yelloly. “The Porsche Mobil1 Supercup is one of the most prestigious and demanding GT championships and my goal is to claim big victories with FACH AUTO TECH.”

Christof Langer is no newcomer to the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and was already on the road in the Porsche one-make trophy in 2016 and 2017. The 51-year-old is moving from MRS Cup-Racing to FACH AUTO TECH in 2018.

“I’m very proud to have three extremely good drivers again in 2018. Jaap and Christof are two experienced drivers, who’ve already driven in the Supercup. And Nick’s already done a super job in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland”, team manager Alex Fach reports. “I’m convinced that this blend will allow us to launch an extremely strong team, which can build on past achievements and fight for titles”, he continues.

The 2018 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup will again be a part of the Formula 1 programme and begins 11th – 13th May on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
